Hailing from the upper ordovician, these trilobites thrived in the warm shallow seas that once covered the provinces of Quebec and Ontario. Isotelus specimens, despite being described from many localities and well-known to collectors, are often a hard genus to obtain (especially in quality). This species was described from the famous Walcott-rust quarry in New York State. Specimens from Quebec are quite rare.

An excellent specimen from Quebec. This rare trilobite was collected by a friend and spent around 9.5 hours with me in my lab. These are fragile, time-consuming pieces to work on. Pre-prep photos can be sent on request.

Approx 4-5% restoration is present; a small patch on the glabella, 3 small sections of axis and a tiny blip left side, mid-pleuron. Since isotelus are often found weathering out or heavily fractured during splits, this percentage is well below the norm.
