This Isotelus trilobite hails from the (now-illegal-to-collect) far reaches of a Quebec island in the Gulf of the St Lawrence river. One of the most beautiful places on earth, Anticosti island is as fossil packed as it is remote. Newly established UNESCO 'protections' have made it so that only the AMNH and the rough coastal seas may now collect here. One of the richest fossil beds with the most complete Ordovician/Silurian boundry known to man has shared the fate of so many classic localities. Obtained unprepared from an old, better days collection.
