These endearing asteropyge trilobites come from the Widder formation in South-Western Ontario, Canada. Greenops trilobites from Ontario are among the finest preserved Devonian trilobites on earth. Through careful preparation techniques using soft blast media, the fine details and features are preserved while also accenting the natural aesthetics of the piece. This plate is a great addition to any collection big or small.

A highly inflated and darkly colored Greenops specimen from the "hard lens" layer of the Widder formation. Trilobites from this lens tend to be smaller but more inflated, better preserved and darker in coloration than their 'soft layer' counterparts. This specimen stands out beautifully on a thick, brachiopod-infused piece of matrix. A small chip of shell has been restored between the eyes (approximately 1% of restoration). This specimen was collected and prepared in March 2026.
