This Silurian species is among the most famous Calymnid trilobites due to their massive size. Up until recently, this species has only been described from Anticosti Island in Eastern Quebec, Canada. In Northern Ontario, despite being extraordinarily rare and a smaller size, the Stormbed quarry has been producing sister fauna to the island site with species such as Distyrax, Stelckaspis, Rielaspis and now, Diacalymene. As our Northern project continues, I am hopeful many more species will be added to this list.
